Regular Season runs May 8, 2012 through June 16, 2012
Playoffs – June 19 through June 23 • Championships June 24 & 25 @ an indoor gym to be determined
$100 Registration deposit is due by April 23, 2011 (rosters due April 27)
The Heroes Youth Basketball League is run every year since 1990, now with a 10 game-guaranteed (including play-offs) weekday-only season beginning in Mid May with playoffs beginning June19th. The Championship games are at an indoor gym on June 24th or 25th. We have schedules on the web and we have short text alert programs for announcments or weather related issues. We generally have 10 or 12 teams in each division and do not play on weekenmds. One of the best things we do is work your schedule around conflict dates the coach supplies to us in advance. Some coaches give us dates or days they can not play, some give us times they wish to play – including doubleheaders if wanted. We are able to accommodate 95% of the conflicts given to us. Coaches must clearly indicate conflicts on the roster sheets. We will place your sponsor’s name on uniforms we provide for each player, if your team has a sponsor.
In order to have fewer lopsided scores, when possible, we will schedule separate “divisions” in each age group with some crossover games. Teams which are made up of primarily the younger year in any age group will play teams their own age more often during the season. Playoffs seeds will be determined by season records. Knee coverings must be worn by players on the court in all divisions.

He moved to Maspeth from Corona and opened up Lafye’s jewelry store at 65-43 Grand Avenue in 2005.
“I always felt that I have the ability to create things, to do things with my hands,” Flores said of why he enjoys working with jewelry.
“I like every single aspect of my job,” he said, including setting diamonds and creating new pieces.
“Jewelry is important to people because, in some ways, it identifies everyone,” he said. “Everyone has their own style, everyone has their unique way of wearing jewelry.”
As a small business owner, Flores was affected by Small Business Saturday, a national initiative launched in 2010 encouraging people to shop locally on the day after Black Friday.
Flores said he heard of Small Business Saturday for the first time this year.
“I think it’s a good incentive for our neighbors to come out and shop locally,” he said.
Flores said a few people mentioned it while shopping in his store, but that sales were pretty much equal between Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
He usually gets more business the weekend after Thanksgiving then the rest of the year. “It’s particularly higher than most weeks,” he said.
As for the future, Flores said he’d like to move his store to a higher foot-traffic area.
But, “I like the neighborhood, I like the people,” he said of Maspeth. “I’d like to stay in the area if I ever relocate.”
